Did Godley and Creme enter the genre? Seems right.
Like Eddie Murphy, Weird Al deserves much more respect than he gets in THE right now. New album rocks Novelty Hip-Hop, as you might know, and then there is this Zappa spoof from 2003’s Poodle Hat (Zappa-esque title!).
Zappa MUST have tried out Hip Hop parody, right?!?!?
Watch it now. It has nothing to do with Hip- Hop.

I was having a mid-morning conversation with a “connected” associate, and recommended this YouTube clip as something that he might find amusing.
My quick description was something along the lines of, “yeah, David Cross dresses up like some neighborhood bar and grill white bluesbo track coach or something and invades Jim Belushi’s band at some performance….”

I just got a text message from this associate. It said, “That’s not a costume. That’s how David dresses.”

After reading a review of Albert Hammond Jr.’s solo album (on Pitchfork) which failed to mention his father, I felt a need to soften my fit-pitching a tad. I’ve never seen ‘WuJianDao’. It’s not a prerequisite to enjoying, suffering through, or critiqing The Departed. Scorsese did not make a “bad” movie by any stretch, and it’s put together like an engine. But if you think that it eschews standard action/crime movie nonsense for some higher art, you need to watch more movies. And as David Dunlap Jr. (who I saw the film with) asked, “Do Irish gangs even exist anymore?”
