….the continuing existence of Southern Culture on the Skids or The Reverend Horton Heat is the hard truth that there might be an audience for Kickin It Old Skool. At this point in the game, the only demographic that could possibly find this movie entertaining would be….what? I don’t even know. A frat boy after an eight-month, freon-induced coma? As the preview played on the tube (just now), I was hit with a sadly familiar ”why?”…..the same ”why?” that Coffee and Cigarettes, the Starsky and Hutch movie, and The Naked Trucker and T-Bone Show spurred. Creative Bankruptcy indeed.

yeah, trafficking in tired nostalgia is a detestable enterprise.
oh, by the way, what time will you be playing your precious early 90s jangle rock this evening? oh, and can i expect some Sleepyhead.

Even stranger to me is the upcoming remake of “Hairspray.” I guess the new one will include different things from the Broadway production, but the clips look exactly like the first movie, but with Travolta in a dress this time and a different chubby chick. I don’t get it.

What about the Geico cavemen getting their own show? Good luck.
And how about this nonsense? Scatman would be kickin’ someone’s ass if he were still around.
