Officially. It’s very strange to see this in print. I’ve been gradually/sporadically letting the cat peek out of the bag since January, but this is the most detailed blurb yet. I feel a little naked, as if I just saw 5,000 words explaining the past ten months of my life instead of 80 explaining an important part of the past ten months of my life.

That’s right!! I woke up the comments section. Comment away!!! Either you people are too lazy to send e-mail or I have absolutely no readers…or both!! Either way, the shit is boring!! Thinking about my year-end lists. Looks like 2008 is going to be “The Year Of The Double Album”

* Boris Smile - Only the Southern Lord vinyl version…the extra side-long track (is that the one?) is the tits! Like I said before…Boris does Animals-era Floyd doing early Robin Trower doing Houdini-era Melvins doing Major Stars doing Firefall? I can live with that.

* Fucked-Up Chemistry of Common Life - Probably too clever for their own good. The ONLY band allowed to have 5+ members, even if they could have belied some “Canadization” by keeping it intimate. At least they sound like they have 5+ members. Not hardcore by any means (a note to other writers: stop that shit), and not reinventing the GM 2.3 litre Quad 4 banger (of late-80’s Cutlass Ciera fame…great engine if kept under 70K), but it’s what they do with their record collections & general rock and roll loves. So you’re going to sit there and tell me that an Antiseen/Sonic Youth/Black Flag/late-80’s Brit-noise-drone hybrid DIDN’T need to be in glossy music mags? No, I’m not quite ready for my check…send more to the table…NOW!!
